July Favourites!

Yay, here it is! The end of another month and some exciting products to share with you. Let’s get right into it 😃

The first thing I’ve been absolutely loving are the Pamela’s Products ‘Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies’. These bite-sized buttons of delight are wheat-free, gluten-free, non-dairy, have 0 grams of trans fat and taste freaking DELICIOUS! It’s hard for me to stop at just a few (so do bear that in mind hehe).

The next item is The All Natural Face Cream Blush in ‘Suntan’, which I reviewed in my previous post. I cannot get enough of this stuff! Not only is the price very reasonable ($5.75) but the packaging is gorgeous, the colour is perfect for contouring and the formula itself is creamy and has very decent staying-power (only fades slightly after 4 hours).

The Zuzu Luxe Liquid Eyeliner is a favourite among many in the natural beauty community, and I can totally see why. I have the colour in ‘Raven’-a beautiful matte black. Let me just say, if you’re struggling to part with your toxic equivalent, LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THIS PRODUCT! It is almost perfect. The wand makes application a breeze, and the formula itself is incredibly long-lasting. Seriously, once applied, this stuff ain’t budging (unless you do something stupid like forcefully rub a greasy hand across your eyelids).

Next up we have The Body Shop Perfume in the scent ‘Moringa’– yep, I know this isn’t technically ‘natural’ *hangs head in shame*, but I’m still on the hunt for an affordable natural perfume that has good staying power. Most of the ones I have tried just fade after an hour or so. Anyway, this product smells SO good! It was love at first whiff. I would describe the scent as a mix of fresh and floral. The best part is that it does last a long time and can be smelt by people within a 1 metre radius.

Finally the ‘Troubled Skin Serum’ from Rainwater Botanicals. I attribute the vast improvement of my hormonal breakouts greatly (but not of course entirely) to this product. I’ve totally stripped-down my skincare routine to include basically just this product and coconut oil, and it seems to have been working a treat. The ingredients of this product are stellar: Organic Aloe Juice, DMAE, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Rooibos Tea Extract, Emulsifying Wax, Organic Green Tea Extract, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Tamanu Oil, Organic White Tea Extract, Vitamin E, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamin B3, MSM, Organic Black Willowbark Extract, Xantham Gum, essential oils of frankincence and sandalwood. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable and effective acne serum.

So there you have it, my favourites for the month of July! Feel free to leave a comment telling me what you’ve been loving this past month.

Natural + Organic Contour Products

Heyyyyy!

Today I’d like to share with you a few products that I use to add a little shape and dimension to my face. They are either products I am currently using, have used in the past, or would like to use in the future (wishlist items)

Personally, I am a huge fan of creme products because I just find they are easier and tend to look more natural. However, if I am using a powder foundation I tend to use powder products to contour because…I don’t really know, I guess I just feel like they go together!

The products I am going to be doing a mini-review on today are:

  • Dr Hauschka Balancing Teint Powder
  • Kjaer Weis cream blush in ‘Abundance’
  • Everyday Minerals eyeshadow in ‘Nutmeg’
  • The All Natural Face cream blush in ‘Suntan’

The Dr Hauschka Balancing Teint Powder is probably my least favourite of the four. This particular product is actually not intended for contouring so perhaps that is why! The final colour in the trio is a nice browny-taupe though, making it somewhat suited to this purpose. Overall, in spite of the fabulous cool-toned colour, I found this product to be just too sheer, plus the thin strip of colour makes application difficult. You can only really use a very thin brush to get at the contour-colour; if you use a big brush you’ll end up picking up the pink and white shades in the trio, making the colour even MORE diluted! I’m pretty certain the Balancing Teint Powder is discontinued, however I have still seen it available on certain sites if you are interested in picking it up

The Kjaer Weis cream blush was definately the most expensive of the lot, and in terms of colour, it is probably not the best to choose for contouring. HOWEVER, I still just love this product. Not only is the packaging simply stunning (as is the case with all Kjaer Weis makeup), the product itself goes on very smoothly and lasts for a very, very long time. I actually like to layer a little on top of The All Natural Face Cream Blush in ‘Suntan’, and I find this not only gives a great natural colour, but increases the staying power.

Everday Minerals eyeshadow in ‘Nutmeg’ is obviously also not designed for contouring, but the shade is simply perfect- I’d say the best out of the four. The main drawback being that it is loose powder and therefore application is a little more difficult. If you’re on a tight budget though and don’t mind the fact that it takes a little more time to apply, this would be an option I’d highly recommend! Again, this product has unfortunately been discontinued, however there are still some available on Lucky Vitamin, so if you wanna pick some up you’d better hurry!

Finally, my favourite of the bunch- The All Natural Face Cream Blush in ‘Suntan’– the price, colour and formula make it an all-around winner. This product is creamy, pigmented and has very decent staying power. It is super-easy to apply and also comes in very cute packaging. Definately a must-have item for me.

And now, moving onto my wishlist items!

The Pumpkin and Poppy Michelle Cream Face Contour is something I’ve been eyeing off for a long time now! I love that this has been designed specifically for contouring, so the shade is a cool-toned taupe rather than bronze. Obviously I can’t say much for how it performs right now but after I try it out I’ll do a full-review!

Another item is the Pumpkin and Poppy Oak Bark Cool-Toned Contouring Powder, which has recieved a lot of love from many natural beauty bloggers.

What I would simply LOVE to see would be a pressed contour powder that is cool-toned, and as yet I haven’t come across any natural/organic products that fit the bill. If you know of any, PLEASE leave them as suggestions in the comments!

Have a wonderful day and keep smiling! 😊
